Wondering what’s new in our nursery department for 2018?
Here are just a few of the plants you can look forward to seeing this year!
La Barbe Bleue Bluebeard™ Caryopteris
Gardeners looking for late summer blooms are in for a treat! Fragrant, shiny-yellow foliage adds a warm glow to the garden all summer, but come early fall this shrub really struts its stuff when it’s covered in high-contrast deep-blue flower spikes. The neat and compact habit makes it a great container plant and garden specimen. Perfect for pairing with hydrangeas.
Full sun. Up to 3 ft. tall and wide. Deciduous.
Candy Apple™ Hydrangea
Lime continues to be a strong color in the garden and this hydrangea, with the same look as Limelight hydrangea, delivers that and sturdy stems that don’t flop. Compact and dense with three seasons of interest as lime-green panicles age to nearly pure white in summer, then to pale pink in autumn. Gorgeous in fresh or dried cut flower arrangements. Pair with other fall bloomers for an unforgettable garden moment.
Partial shade to full sun. Up to 5 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide. Deciduous.
Strawberry Shake™ Hydrangea
This gorgeous new panicle hydrangea features sturdy stems that support huge, gleaming-white flower heads that mature to the most delectable soft-pink hue, often on the shrub at the same time. Great flower for drying or fresh in a vase. Compact form is lovely massed or as an accent where you need just a hint of drama.
Partial shade to filtered sun. Up to 5 ft. tall and 4 ft. wide. Deciduous.
Seaside Serenade® Cape May Hydrangea
Huge lacecap blooms (can be turned pink or blue depending on soil pH) supported by extra-thick stems that are ideal for cutting. Serrata hydrangeas are the most winter hardy of the macrophyllas, with leaves that age from green to red and burgundy. Compact form for low borders or to add color and depth in front of taller shrubs.
Partial shade to filtered sun. Up to 3 ft. tall and wide. Deciduous.
Jade Enchantress® Cherry Laurel
Notably improved disease resistant glossy, dark-green leaves and showy, fragrant, creamy white flower spikes, followed by black ornamental fruits provide year round interest. Excellent hedge or background plant. Birds love it! Partial shade to partial sun.
Up to 3 ft. tall, 6 ft. wide. Evergreen.
